Our tower houses a ring of eight bells — the heaviest change-ringing bells in the world rung from ground level inside a church. They span centuries: the fifth bell dates from around 1570, the tenor from 1648, with four more added in 1903, and the bells were rehung in 1956.
When we ring
Sunday mornings, 9am–9.30am, and practice on Friday evenings, 7.30pm–9pm.
Joining us
Ringing is suitable for ages 10 to 80 (and does take a bit of muscle). New ringers receive individual instruction. To arrange a trial session, contact Alan Griffin at ajg@argonet.co.uk.
