St Mary’s holds a Bronze Eco Church Award through the A Rocha Eco Church scheme, with Gold in Worship and Teaching, Silver in Buildings, Land & Community and in Global Engagement, and Bronze in Lifestyle.
To progress to Silver overall, we need to raise our Lifestyle score — areas we’re already working on include promoting Fairtrade goods and encouraging walking and cycling, with carbon footprint audits, recycling events and ethical investment guidance identified as next steps.
