Friends of St Marys

About the Friends of St Mary's, Bloxham

The Friends of St Mary’s is a registered charity (no. 1091422), formed in 2002. The purpose of the Friends, as set out in our constitution, is “to beautify, improve and assist in the maintenance of the fabric of St Mary’s Church and to preserve and protect it as a place of Christian worship.”

We are conscious of the status of St Mary’s Church as one of the finest church buildings in England and an important focus of Bloxham village life. We raise money from membership fees, donations and fund-raising activities in support of our purpose. More details of these activities can be found in ounewsletter or on the Friends of St Mary's page on this site.

The church’s Parochial Church Council (PCC) sets the agenda for ongoing maintenance and development work, and the charity works closely with the PCC to provide as much funding as possible. The Friends’ Committee is always interested in hearing from members, and others, with any suggestions or ideas for fund-raising initiatives.
